Over 250 Children and Youth Celebrate Conservation at the 1st Environmental Rally in Playa Mo\u00edn<\/strong><\/p>

Lim\u00f3n, Costa Rica | September 29, 2025<\/strong>
Costa Rica\u2019s Caribbean coast witnessed an unforgettable day of environmental learning and connection with nature during the 1st Environmental Rally in Playa Mo\u00edn<\/strong>, hosted by Turtle Rescue Cahuita on Saturday, September 28, with the valuable sponsorship of APM Terminals.<\/p>

This event, which merged environmental education, cultural activities, games, and community engagement, brought together over 250 children, youth, and adults, who participated in a series of themed educational stations. There, they learned about marine biodiversity, the life cycle of sea turtles, waste management, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>

Playa Mo\u00edn: A Key Site for Sea Turtle Conservation<\/strong><\/p>

Playa Mo\u00edn, located in the province of Lim\u00f3n, is one of the most critical nesting beaches for sea turtles in Costa Rica. The decision to host the rally in this location was intentional: Turtle Rescue Cahuita, in collaboration with APM Terminals, has been actively involved in monitoring and protecting sea turtle nests along this coastline, while also implementing educational programs for local communities.<\/p>

During the rally, participants were divided into small groups led by trained volunteers and environmental allies, who guided them through each educational station. Through play, direct observation, and hands-on learning, the younger participants deepened their understanding of coastal ecosystems and were empowered to become guardians of the ocean and biodiversity.<\/p>

Transformative Partnerships for Impact<\/strong><\/p>

This event was made possible thanks to the strong support of APM Terminals, a company committed to sustainable development and environmental protection in the regions where it operates. Their contributions were essential for providing activity kits, educational materials, and healthy snacks for all participants, and for mobilizing local schools and community leaders to take part.<\/p>

In addition to the organizing team and volunteers from Turtle Rescue Cahuita, the event also received the active support of educators, neighborhood leaders, and residents, all of whom contributed to the rally\u2019s success.<\/p>

Playa Mo\u00edn: un escenario clave para la conservaci\u00f3n La actividad se desarroll\u00f3 en Playa Mo\u00edn, una de las zonas m\u00e1s importantes de anidaci\u00f3n de tortugas marinas en Costa Rica, ubicada en la provincia de Lim\u00f3n. La elecci\u00f3n de este escenario no fue casualidad: Turtle Rescue Cahuita, en colaboraci\u00f3n con APM Terminals, trabaja activamente en la protecci\u00f3n y monitoreo de nidos de tortugas marinas, as\u00ed como en programas educativos dirigidos a comunidades locales. Durante el rally, los participantes se dividieron en grupos liderados por voluntarios y aliados ambientales, quienes guiaron la experiencia en cada estaci\u00f3n. A trav\u00e9s del juego, la observaci\u00f3n directa y la reflexi\u00f3n, los m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes aprendieron la importancia de preservar los ecosistemas costeros y de convertirse en guardianes del mar y la biodiversidad. Alianzas que transforman El evento cont\u00f3 con el respaldo de APM Terminals, empresa comprometida con el desarrollo sostenible y la conservaci\u00f3n del entorno donde opera.
