Children and Nature: This Is How the II Environmental Rally of Turtle Rescue Cahuita Unfolded in Cahuita National Park<\/strong><\/p>

Cahuita, Lim\u00f3n | August 24, 2025<\/strong> \u2014
On Sunday, August 24, in celebration of Costa Rica\u2019s National Parks Day, the iconic Cahuita National Park came alive with color, learning, and environmental awareness during the second edition of the Environmental Rally<\/strong>organized by Turtle Rescue Cahuita<\/strong>.<\/p>

Beginning at 8:00 a.m., more than 60 children, youth, and adults from surrounding communities arrived with enthusiasm, ready to take part in a day filled with discovery, conservation, and community spirit.<\/p>

Environmental Education for New Generations<\/strong><\/p>

Guided by the dedication and joy of 25 volunteer leaders, participants rotated through multiple educational stations, each focused on key environmental themes such as marine biodiversity, sea turtle conservation, waste management, creative recycling, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>

Each station featured age-appropriate, interactive activities that blended play with meaningful reflection. Participants not only learned essential environmental concepts but also strengthened their connection to the natural heritage that surrounds them.<\/p>

Inclusion of Rural Communities<\/strong><\/p>

A highlight of this second edition was the participation of 15 students from Escuela de Carb\u00f3n, a nearby rural community invited as part of Turtle Rescue Cahuita\u2019s commitment to inclusive environmental education, particularly in vulnerable and underserved areas.<\/p>

\u201cWhat we experienced during this Rally reflects the core of our mission: to educate, inspire, and cultivate love for nature from an early age. Cahuita National Park is a living classroom, and children are our greatest allies in conservation,\u201d said Laura Villalobos, Director of Turtle Rescue Cahuita.<\/p>

Local Alliances Strengthen Conservation<\/strong><\/p>

The rally was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Cahuita National Park, the Cahuita Community Development Association, the Civil Society Platform for the SDGs, and more than a dozen local businesses, hotels, and restaurants, who generously contributed donations, snacks, logistical support, and heartfelt enthusiasm.<\/p>

These types of alliances reinforce the social and ecological fabric of Costa Rica\u2019s Caribbean coast, and prove that when communities come together, environmental education becomes a powerful, accessible, and transformative experience.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ni\u00f1ez y naturaleza: As\u00ed se vivi\u00f3 el II Rally Ambiental de Turtle Rescue Cahuita en el Parque Nacional Cahuita Cahuita, Lim\u00f3n | 24 de agosto de 2025 \u2014El pasado domingo 24 de agosto, en el marco del D\u00eda de los Parques Nacionales, el ic\u00f3nico Parque Nacional Cahuita se llen\u00f3 de vida, aprendizaje y conciencia ambiental con la realizaci\u00f3n del II Rally Ambiental, organizado por la organizaci\u00f3n Turtle Rescue Cahuita. Desde las 8:00 a.m., m\u00e1s de 60 ni\u00f1os, ni\u00f1as, j\u00f3venes y adultos comenzaron a llegar con gran entusiasmo desde diversas comunidades de la zona, listos para sumarse a una jornada educativa que uni\u00f3 diversi\u00f3n, conservaci\u00f3n y participaci\u00f3n comunitaria. Educaci\u00f3n ambiental para nuevas generaciones Guiados por el compromiso y la alegr\u00eda de 25 voluntarios l\u00edderes, los grupos participantes recorrieron diversas estaciones educativas, donde se abordaron temas como la biodiversidad marina, la protecci\u00f3n de las tortugas marinas, la gesti\u00f3n de residuos, el reciclaje creativo, y los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). Cada estaci\u00f3n ofrec\u00eda din\u00e1micas l\u00fadicas y reflexivas adaptadas a las edades de los participantes, quienes no solo aprendieron conceptos fundamentales sobre el ambiente, sino que tambi\u00e9n fortalecieron su v\u00ednculo con el patrimonio natural que los rodea. Inclusi\u00f3n de comunidades rurales Una de las grandes novedades de esta segunda edici\u00f3n fue la participaci\u00f3n de 15 estudiantes de la Escuela de Carb\u00f3n, una comunidad vecina que fue invitada especialmente como parte del compromiso de Turtle Rescue Cahuita con la inclusi\u00f3n de zonas rurales y vulnerables en sus procesos formativos. \u201cLo que vivimos en este Rally es la esencia de nuestra misi\u00f3n: educar, sensibilizar y sembrar amor por la naturaleza desde edades tempranas.
