DONATE

At Turtle Rescue Cahuita, we know there’s nothing quite as special as watching a hatchling make its way to the sea. But what truly fills us with pride is the unity of people who, from different places, choose to contribute their energy and commitment to protecting sea turtles. That’s why we created different ways to get involved, all with the same value and impact, so you can find the one that connects with you the most.

Volunteering

Environmental conservation project focused on the research and care of marine turtles, established in 2015. The project works hand in hand with the local community to promote the conservation and protection of sea turtles, the preservation of the environment, sustainable economic development, training, and environmental education. The project also conducts beach patrols and monitoring to protect turtle nests, relocating them to safe hatcheries when necessary. The main threats to natural nests include the illegal harvesting of eggs for human consumption, the effects of climate change, and coastal erosion.

You’re going to contribute!

Participation in the project includes an educational component that allows volunteers to learn more about the conservation and protection of sea turtles and the environment in which they live.

It is an ideal place for volunteers who are interested in the environment and who wish to spend time in total disconnection and tranquility, surrounded by a natural setting by the sea.

BE PART OF OUR PROJECT

Hundreds of thousands of sea turtles, whales, marine mammals, and more than one million seabirds die every year from ocean pollution and entanglement in marine debris.
